I’ve had the last three weeks off work, well I still have tomorrow (Friday) and the weekend to go but I’m doing some planning and work this week to ease the stress of starting back next week. While getting my planning underway I read that our staff wellness theme for the next term is “Weight Watch”. They are asking staff to weigh-in on Monday and through-out the term with the final weigh in week 9 (23rd Sept – 27th Sept) to determine a winner. While I suspect I won’t be “THE” winner as I’m already relatively normal weight, it will be a fantastic incentive to get to MY goal!
I find my workplace is a toxic environment and I really struggle to eat clean at work. Let me explain what I mean. I take my own food to work EVERY day. I have never once bought my lunch at the cafeteria. The toxic part is the biscuit jar that sits in our lunchroom and is constantly being refilled when it gets a bit low. Then there is the lollie jar which is labelled “Turtle Pellets”, it too is regularly topped up so if I get a sugar craving urge there is a fix! If there were no lollies/sweets available I wouldn’t eat them as I don’t buy them. Then there is the cakes and sweets that my colleagues bring in each week to share. We are allocated a week and when it is our week we take in something sweet to share… obviously I try avoid eating the sweet goodies people bring in but it all adds to me classifying my workplace as “toxic”. There is also the chocolate biscuits put out every morning tea in our common room too but I don’t go there at morning tea time very often.
So having a workplace “Weight Watch” challenge is going to be a real incentive to stay clean and avoid all the sugar traps I face daily.
I did step on the scales this morning…. the number was: 60.9Kg. So it is definitely manageable to get back to my goal weight in 9 weeks. I don’t really want to state a specific number but I think it will be in the range of 54 and 56Kg.
What I really want to achieve is to fit into my size 10 Diesel Jeans. They seem to be a very slim fit. I fit a pair of size 9 Rusty jeans and a pair of size 8 Roxy jeans at the moment. But the Diesel Jeans are TIGHT!!!! In 9 weeks I would love to slide into those Diesel jeans!!
I will keep you posted with my progress!
